A velvet touch

While bomber jacket and pleated skirt are two of my favourite pieces during the fall season, I developed another obsession to velvet. The luxury fabric has been spotted everywhere from the runway to the streets and there are many style to chose from, dresses, suiting, skirts, and even bags and shoes. At first glance the pleated velvet skirt may seems like impossible to pull off, but the feminine silhouette and the rich hue are very flattering and really make the outfit pop , especially when pairing it with a bomber jacket or oversized sweater and simple accessories for a polished look.

Even so Velvet is a statement piece, there are many styles to chose from, so you can actually wear it from day to night depending on your accessories and your own personal style. I decided to team my velvet accordion pleats with an embroidered bomber jacket and a pair of white shoes. I think it’s the perfect way to balances between soft femininity and sporty edge.

I took these pictures in Chicago down town while ago. From some reason I didn’t publish them until now. I think I was disappointed a bit from their quality. Today I took a second look in them and I felt that this is an outfit that I really want to share with you. Sorry if it is not sharp enough, I’ve done my best…

I wore a velvet pencil skirt from Urban Outfitters.I love the mid-calf length, which gives an edgy touch to the classic skirt. The leather vest is also a great way to create contrast, by mixing different textures (soft sensual velvet and cool motorcycle leather jacket). This blanket scarf from Zara is incredibly useful and the most practical item I have in my closet. The tartan prints is so hot right now, so I can be trendy and warm at the same time. In this crazy extreme cold weather all I need is an heavy scarf to wrap up with.
